Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kochi

A representative from India Travel Choice will greet you when you arrive at Cochin International Airport in Kochi and drive you to the hotel. Day 2: Kochi to Munnar (130 km; 4 hours of driving)

Take a taxi to Munnar, a beautiful hill station in Kerala, after breakfast at the hotel. Check into the hotel for an overnight stay after reaching Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar

Visit Eravikulam National Park first thing in the morning to see the rare Nilgiri Tahr and other plants and animals that call this place home. A boat trip on the lake near the Mattupetty Dam is then recommended. Visit the Tea Museum later to learn more about Munnar’s tea history and current tea production. In order to have a full picture of the surroundings, climb to the summit of Anamudi Mountain, which is the tallest mountain in South India. Visit Chokramudi Peak in Munnar in the evening, another well-liked vantage point. Dinner at a neighborhood eatery will include typical Keralan fares like appam, stew, and payasam to round off the day.

Day 4: Munnar to Thekkady

Take a 3-hour drive from Munnar to Thekkady after breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls along the way for some breathtaking scenery. Check into the hotel as soon as you get to Thekkady. After getting ready, go to Kumily, a tiny town around 10 kilometers from Thekkady. You may visit one of Kumily’s spice farms to learn more about how spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper are made. Visit the Mullaperiyar Dam, which is on the Periyar River and provides the area with hydroelectric power, in the evening. At a nearby restaurant, end the day with a traditional Kerala dinner. Day 5: Periyar and Thekkady National Parks

The Periyar Tiger Reserve is a protected region where a variety of species, including elephants, tigers, and leopards, call home. Start the day by visiting this location. Observe some of these creatures in their natural habitat by taking a lake cruise. Thick, perpetually green forests may be found in Kerala’s Western Ghats, commonly known as Periyar National Park and Periyar Tiger Reserve. The sanctuary was designated a tiger reserve in 1978 and is renowned for its geomorphology, richness of wildlife, and natural beauty. In addition to rare lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards, and Indian bison, this wildlife sanctuary is home to tigers, a sizeable elephant population, and other exotic animals. One of India’s wildlife reserves that is still open is this one. Visit one of Thekkady’s spice farms after touring the Periyar Tiger Reserve to discover more about how spices like pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon are made. Day 6: Drive from Thekkady to Kumarakom (130 km; 3.30 hours)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the resort in Thekkady before departing for Kumarakom. Check into the hotel when you get to Kumarakom. After getting ready, go birding at the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Kingfishers, herons, and egrets are just a few of the resident and migratory species that call the refuge home. After seeing the bird sanctuary, go to the lovely Kumarakom Beach, which is situated on the shores of Vembanad Lake. Visit the Kumarakom Boat Jetty as well, where you can board a boat and go around Kerala’s backwaters. Enjoy a traditional Kerala dinner at a nearby restaurant to cap off the day. Day 7: Drive 35 km (1 hour) from Kumarakom to Alappuzha.

Leave the resort after breakfast and go to Alappuzha (or Alleppey), a system of canals, lakes, and lagoons in the Indian state of Kerala. You may take a boat trip through the backwaters to see how the locals live and to see various birds and other animals. Check into a houseboat in the late afternoon, then spend the rest of the day relaxing on your floating residence while exploring the backwaters. A bedroom, bathroom, and eating space are common features on houseboats, allowing you to relax and take in the environment. On the houseboat, have a traditional Keralan meal in the evening. Spend the evening floating around on the houseboat.

Day 8: Alleppey to Kovalam (160 km; 4 hours of driving)

Awaken to the sounds of nature in the morning, then have a meal of fresh, regional foods before getting off the houseboat and heading to Kovalam. Visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, a well-known Hindu temple in Trivandrum, the capital of the Indian state of Kerala, on the way to Kovalam. Continue your drive to Kovalam after seeing the temple. After arriving, check-in at the resort before traveling to the well-known beach resort of Kovalam, which is around 16 km from Trivandrum. The remainder of the day may be spent relaxing in the sunshine and taking in the stunning scenery. Visit Kovalam’s Lighthouse Beach, another well-liked beach, or go on a boat trip in the evening. Day 9: Drive from Kovalam to Kanyakumari (90 km; 2.30 hours)

After breakfast, go to Kanyakumari, a lovely city located at India’s southernmost point. Arrive and check into the hotel. Unwind at the hotel and then go to Vavathurai, Kanyakumari, India, to see the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a renowned tourist destination. In commemoration of Swami Vivekananda, who is supposed to have acquired enlightenment atop the rock, it was constructed in 1970. Visit the 3000-year-old Sarvani Shaktipeeth Shri Bhagavathy Temple as well, which is devoted to Goddess Kanya Kumari. Visit Gandhi Mandapam, Suchindram Temple, and Tri Samudra Milan as well. Take a stroll on the beach in Kanyakumari or visit the town’s market in the evening. Hotel stays for the night.

Day 10: Departure from Trivandrum
